Rose's story

Rose is a 51 year old widow with six children, four sons and two daughters. Some of her children are still in school. As a single parent, Rose says she works very hard to be able to provide for the family. She lives with her children in a rented apartment in Dunkwa in the Central region of Ghana. Rose supplies cereals such as maize, beans, etc. to food vendors and other retailers in her community. She buys her goods all the way from Northern Ghana and has been in business for over thirty years. Rose would like a loan to buy goods in bulk to expand her business, as she aspires to give all her children good education.
