A loan of $575 helps to buy commodities for her husband's general store to enhance his business.

Shabana's story

Shabana is a 41-year-old married women and the mother of six children who lives in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is standing with her husband.

Her husband has been running a general store for many years near his house, and the business is operating very well. He has been running a small general store for five years. His shop is situated in a populated area, and there are a lot of customers available here to buy miscellaneous general store items.

He wants to offer all those products that are necessary and consumable for daily use. He wants to offer stationery items such as copies, pencil, pens, led pencils, erasers, etc., but the major problem is the shortage of funds. Therefore, Shabana requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan so that her husband could buy sacks of rice, sugar, and flour and additional stationery items. She is very glad after taking this loan and hopeful that she will successfully fulfill each request for any item and prevent the disappointment of his customers.

Shabana is very thankful to Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Pakistan.
