A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase more pillows to invest in her booth and a motorcycle to transport pillows to and from market.

Lun's story

Mrs. Lun R. is 25 years old and the mother of one child, who is a student. She lives in Siem Reap province, Cambodia. To supplement the family’s savings, she buys pillows from the pillow-makers or wholesaler and resells them to retailers at a market. She makes around $7/day in revenue. Her husband (pictured here because R. is at a market) is a construction worker and earns a moderate amount, about $3 per day. Due to a great demand of her clients recently, R. is currently requesting a loan of $1000. She will use the loan to increase her inventory by purchasing different kinds of pillows and a motorcycle for transportation, so that she no longer spends money on public transportation. In the future, R. hopes to build a new house for her family and provide her children a high level of education.
