A loan of $450 helped purchase textile materials.

Patricia's story

Patricia is married and has 3 young children. Her home is currently under construction. She began working from a young age in order to meet the various needs of her household, find a way to achieve her independence, and gain experience as a seamstress. Patricia started her business 15 years ago. As a result of her hard work, she was able to buy sewing machines to help make her job easier.

Patricia works from home all day, fulfilling the orders she receives from factories and also designing her own clothing that she sells to neighbors and relatives. She now plans to develop her own clothing line to market to stores in the area. In order to do this, she plans to expand her sewing workshop by converting it in the future into a family microbusiness that provides her children employment and financial support.

This will be Patricia’s 12th loan with MFP. She says she likes working with her Communal Bank because all of the members make their payments on time, which helps the group get ahead. Her loan of 1300 soles will be used to purchase textile materials needed to fulfill her latest orders.
