A loan of $875 helped to buy fertilizers for her farmland and to pay for labor to plow the rice field.

Aim's story

Originally from a rural village of the Srey Snom district, where crop farming is a common way to earn a living, Aim, 45, is married with two children. She and her husband grow rice as the main business for the family’s income. To better support the family, her husband works as a paid worker. Having been in the business for 20 years, they can earn about 55,000 KHR per day to respond to the family’s needs and manage to save about 30,000 KHR each day.

Aim has been a member of Kiva’s partner, VisionFund, for three cycles already, and she wisely and successfully used the past loans to improve her family’s livelihood. To better support her current business, she is requesting another loan to buy fertilizers for her farmland. She will use a portion of it to pay for labor to plow the rice field.

She hopes to increase her crop yields to earn a larger income, so as to improve her family’s living condition.
