A loan of $250 helps to buy farming inputs (fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides).

Prisilah's story

The nice grandmother featured in this picture is Prisilah. Prisilah is visionary, hardworking, and most of all, she is progressive. Prisilah has been living in a remote village in Nakuru for more than 30 years. Those years have not been easy for her, since she has faced many challenges and obstacles on her way, but she has always had the strength to move forward with her family. Prisilah was able to educate all her children through the proceeds she got from farming.

On her small piece of farmland, she has been practicing mixed farming. Prisilah is seeking a loan to buy fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. Loans for smallholder farmers with little and irregular income, and no solid collateral are hard to come by in Kenya.

Only a few organizations, such as Juhudi Kilimo, support farmers such as Prisilah. Because of the favorable weather and road conditions, she will have an easy time transporting her horticultural products to the market. She will make profits and repay her loan. Support this grandmother today with a loan!

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals and farming equipment.
