A loan of $750 helped to buy a hand tractor to transport firewood.

Sorphea's story

Living in a rural area located in Pursat province’s Sampov Meas district, Sorphea is a 28-year-old mother of three children. She has been farming cassava. To earn more income, her husband sells firewood in the local area. Having been in the business for five years, they can make daily income from her current business of 41,000 KHR and are able to save about 10,000 KHR per day after expenses for future needs.

This is the fourth loan for Sorphea with Kiva’s partner VisionFund. She is asking for a new loan to buy a hand tractor as means of transportation for the firewood to sell in the village. She hopes to earn more income from her current business.

This loan is special because:

It supports the social and economic well-being of low-income families.
