A loan of $2,625 helped a member to buy sheep to resell.

Yakene Group's story

Yabèrè is the one who is presenting the sheep in the photo. She is 55 years old, lives in Mali, and is unable to read or write. She lives with her husband and their six children (five sons and one daughter). All of the children go to school.

Yabèrè has raised livestock for 30 years as a way to support her children's needs.

Yabèrè is seeking a loan with RMCR to buy many sheep and feed (press cake and bran) in order to then sell the animals for a good profit. [These earnings] will allow her to pay her children's school fees and take care of her needs.

Yabèrè makes her purchases and sales in the local markets. She makes about 50,000 francs CFA per sale.

In the future, she would like to work so that her children can succeed in school and have a better life.
