A loan helped to process palm oil for storage.

Rosemary's story

Rosemary is a 44-year-old woman and a mother of four children. She lives with her husband and children in their small house in the village. She is the village women's leader and a very active member of Nke-Anyi Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative Society. Her effort has drawn many women from the village to embrace the palm oil processing and marketing trade. This is her first loan with the cooperative to be funded by Kiva lenders. A portion of this loan will enable her to purchase palm fruit and process it this season so as to increase her income and support her husband in caring for the family.
In the future, she hopes to set up a mini palm oil processing mill in the village so as to save herself and other farmers in her village the long trip to a far-off mill in the next village. Rosemary sends her heartfelt appreciation to all Kiva lenders.
