A loan of $700 helped to buy shoes to sell.

Gladis Maria's story

Gladis has a business selling shoes, clothing, and bedsheets. She is 49 years old and is married with two adult children. Her husband works in a store that sells home goods.

Gladis has been investing in shoes since she first began working with Kiva's partner Manuela Ramos six years ago. She has since expanded her business and now sometimes sells clothing and bedsheets as well. Gladis will use this loan of 2000 soles to invest entirely in shoes. Her customers have already placed orders.

Gladis is a member of the communal bank "Las Colinas" (The Hills). Gladis's goal is to some day have her own store where she can sell shoes and purses. She would also like to have a small grocery shop.
