A loan of $350 helped shirts, blouses, pants and other clothing for sale.

Enith's story

Enith is 62 years old and has 11 children, all of whom are independent. With the help of some of her children, Enith runs a small tire-repair shop. She also owns a motorcycle taxi and invests in the sale of clothing.

Enith has been working with Manuela Ramos, a Kiva field partner, for two years and is a member of the "Las Almendras" (The Almonds) communal bank. She used her first loan of 300 soles (about $100) to invest in her repair shop. Enith will use this loan of 1000 soles to invest in shirts, blouses, pants and other clothing to sell.

Enith's loans from Manuela Ramos have enabled her to maintain her repair shop and purchase her motorcycle taxi. Enith's goal is to purchase a second taxi. Enith can earn money each day by renting the motorcycle taxis to local drivers. Enith can also use the taxis to help her sons, by providing them with a driving job and a source of income.
