A loan helped to pay for bales and cartons of mix goods for her general store.

Alice's story

Alice is 35 years old and is married with 4 children. She lives in a rural community outside of Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands.
She runs and operates a small general store in her community selling basic food items like rice, noodles, canned goods and coffee to earn a living. She has been doing this for two years.

With her previous loans, she was able to start up her business and pay for her children's needs and housing expenses. SPBD helps her by providing ongoing training on how to manage and run a small business. Her business is doing well and she earns a very good income.

Alice is now requesting for a new loan to pay for bales and cartons of mix goods to help assist her in maintaining her business. She plans to use her profits to pay for her children's school fees and continue the success of the business.

She joined SPBD in 2015 to gain access to financial services.
