A loan of $1,200 helped to buy a threshing machine.

Marika's story

This is Marika. She lives with her family in a village in southeastern Albania. Her husband is a barber and her son is occupied in car repairs. It means that she is the main family member that is involved in agriculture/livestock.

On the land they own, Marika plants beans, corn, wheat and fodder. The family income comes also from selling milk and a calf every year. Last year, Marika earned $560 from selling beans, around $1,000 from selling the milk and $320 from selling a calf.

Marika is requesting a loan to buy a threshing machine.

This loan is special because:

It supports populations in a country where financing options are scarce.
