Delfina's story

Delfina is a member of the Mi Buen Pastor (My Good Shepherd) Community Bank. She is married, 54 years old, and has five adult children.

Delfina worked as an assistant in a newspaper kiosk for two years, and then at the age of 17 she started her own business selling newspapers. She began in La Victoria neighbourhood, and then moved to San Juan de Miraflores where she bought a piece of land and built a house. On one corner she has started to sell newspapers with the help of her youngest daughter.

Since Delfina has been with Kiva partner Finca she has learned more about running her business. She needs a loan of 2000 soles to buy newspapers, magazines, albums, and figurines. Her dream is stock her kiosk with a wide range of magazines and newspapers.
