Augustina's story

Augustina is fifty years old, is widowed, and has given birth to eight children: three sons and five daughters. Some of her children are still in school. As a single parent, Augustina says she works very hard to be able to provide for the family. She lives with her children in a rented apartment in Dunkwa in the Central region of Ghana.

Augustina is a trader and trades in cereals such as maize, beans, etc. She also deals in tubers of yam. She buys her goods all the way from Northern Ghana and supplies to food vendors and other retailers in her community. She has been in business for over twenty-two years and wants a loan to buy goods in bulk to expand her business.
