Florence's story

Florence is married and has three children who are still in school. Her husband is a temporary laborer in a tea factory. Florence comes from a rural area called Shinyalu which is a rich, agricultural area dominated by tea and maize plantations. Because of the need to provide the best education to her children, Florence started a chemist (pharmacy) business. In the past, the lack of capital has stagnated her business. She heard about SMEP and is now requesting a loan of Ksh 20,000 to enable her buy malaria and common cold drugs as this is the season for such diseases.
