John's story

M. John is an individual client of Pearl Microfinance in Jinja. He is 54 years old and married with nine children of which four are in school. He cares for six orphaned children of his late brother. John has been involved in the business of casting and melting metals for 10 years and before then he started by working in factories where he got the experience and started working alone. He makes spare parts like gears for factories in Jinja and Kampala and he is able to make a monthly profit of 2 million shillings. His quality products make his customers come to him as well as being trust worthy. His business goal is to expand further so that he can have access to more scrap and chemicals so that he can earn more and open up another branch. He has benefited by building his own home and now works from his home, hence not renting anymore. He employs two (2) workers and two of his elder children are employed by other factories so they will follow in his footsteps. John needs a loan to be able to buy more scrap and chemicals for his business.
