A loan of $1,750 helped a member to purchase rice seeds and a water pump to use on her farm.

Ra Group's story

Ra is 35 years old, a farmer and a married woman with three children, who is living in the Prey Veng Province of Cambodia. She has been a farmer for the past seventeen years. Her husband is 35 years old and he is a rice farmer as well. Together, they can earn approximately $17 daily.

Ra is pictured first from the right. She is the group leader and would like to request a loan as part of a group of four members. She will use her portion to purchase rice seeds and a water pump to use on her farm. This loan will help her reduce expenses from renting a pump. For her plans, she wants to buy more farmland, to renovate her house, and to help her children get to college.
