A loan of $850 helped to buy school supplies and books.

Doris Luz's story

Doris is a 47 year-old single mother who lives in the town of La Zaranda, located in the district of Pítipo, one hour from the city of Chiclayo.

Doris lives with her 8 year-old son and she has a small bookstore in her house, where she sells school supplies. This business is the only source of income for her household and it is also very helpful to her community because it is located in front of the only school in the town.

Doris is requesting a loan of 2,500 PEN that she plans to use to buy school supplies and books needed by the students in the neighborhood and thereby continue helping the families of her community.

She has had this business for more than three years and is considered an excellent client in our institution because she has had three loans and she repaid them punctually.

Her greatest dream is to grow her business by opening more bookstores in nearby towns. That way she could have enough income to make it possible for her son to have a good education.
