A loan of $1,025 helped to buy fertilizers.

Francisca's story

Francisco is 41 years old, is a very responsible woman, and lives with the father of her 6 children, of whom the 2 oldest live in Lima and the younger ones live with her in her own house (for which she doesn’t have the deed). The majority of her harvest is the potato because it is very profitable, but it is also very costly because she has to invest in chemical fertilizers. As a result, it takes up all of her time. When she is in her fields, she first thoroughly considers her plants with the goal of detecting the problems that could affect her crops. She tries to resist the problems by using pesticides. She sells her products in a very large and busy market in the city of Tarma called “The Wholesale” (“El Mayorista”). Most of her sales leave her with very good earnings, with which she educates her children and takes care of the family’s expenses. Francisca works well with her husband and does not get tired of it. She is very happy with MFP; this is her fifth loan and during the 4 previous cycles, she showed that she is a very responsible client. She is also very involved in the responsibilities of her community bank, to which she is very thankful. She plans to invest the money requested in the purchase of chemical fertilizers for her potato crops.
