A loan of $400 helped to buy additional poultry.

Esther's story

Esther is a smallholder farmer from a remote village in the Bungoma area of Kenya. She resides with her husband and children. She has been actively involved in farming for the last thirteen years and has never thought of doing any other business.

Esther loves her work and she has struggled for all these years to ensure she is able to meet her family’s needs. She practices mixed farming and sells milk, eggs, and various food crops at the local market. Esther passionately loves poultry farming, but the biggest challenge she faces is a lack of capital to buy quality breeds of poultry that are resistant to diseases and lay more eggs.

Esther is seeking a loan to purchase additional poultry. In addition to the increased egg production, Esther will enjoy increased output of poultry meat. This will further increase her income and profit margins. Through increased profits, she intends to turn around her living conditions and live a better life.

In addition to profits, Esther will benefit from chicken manure, which contains the highest amount of nitrogen of any livestock manure and is very valuable as fertilizer. She will be able to save money that would have been spent to buy fertilizer.

Thanks to your support, Esther will succeed in making her dreams come true. Take action and give a loan!

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals and farming equipment.
