María De Jesús's story

María, 52 years old, and has no formal education as her family was of limited financial resources and she devoted herself to work to help her family. She is the mother of 6 children, of which only 3 live with her and two of them are studying.

María used to work for other people doing washing, ironing, cleaning and other chores. Now she decided to cultivate basic grains such as corn and beans partly to consume and partly to sell. Her three children help her in this work.

María will use this loan to buy seeds, fertilizer, herbicides, foliar fertilizers, and other basic agricultural supplies to prepare the land and to grow basic grains.

She is hoping for good harvests and to improve her home.
