A loan helped to buy gemstones and other materials for embroidered dresses to enhance her business.

Nasreen Bibi's story

Nasreen Bibi is a 46-year-old married woman passing her life with her husband and children in the area of Lahore, Pakistan.

Nasreen Bibi is taking a loan for her gemstone business. She has been selling gemstones for many years. She sells precious stones and silk for embroidery purpose. The embroidery material for bridal dresses is very expensive and its turnover is very high. Due to high costs she is facing a shortage of material and is unable to purchase expensive raw material to sell. Therefore, Nasreen Bibi requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner, BRAC Pakistan, so that she can alleviate her shortage of embroidery material. Through this amount she will buy stocks of gemstones, sequins, precious stones and pearls of various colors.

Nasreen Bibi is very thankful to Kiva and its field partner BRAC Pakistan.
