A loan helped to purchase a solar power system for his house.

Abdullah's story

Abdullah, a 32-year-old, is a married man who lives with his parents and wife in a small house in Ibb governorate, Yemen.

Abdullah runs his own barber's store. He started his own business eight years ago, and it was doing very well until the beginning of the current conflict, which began about two years ago. Also, due to ongoing conflict, supply of basic public services was stopped, especially electricity. Living without electricity is very difficult. Abdullah wants to purchase a solar power system for his house to compensate for the absence of public electricity, but he doesn’t have the required money; therefore, he has applied for a 100,000 YER loan from Al-Amal Microfinance Bank to purchase a 150W solar panel, a 100 amp battery, a 20 amp solar charge controller, a DC/AC LED TV, a DC/AC satellite receiver, and cables.

Abdullah is looking forward to expanding his business after the end of current conflict.
