A loan of $400 helped to buy supplies like cloth, spools of thread in different colors, needles, etc. for her embroidery work.

Abida's story

Abida is a 29-year-old self-employed lady who has two daughters. She lives in a small house with her family in Multan, Pakistan.

She has been in the embroidery business for the last five years. She is very artistic and proud of her work. She gets good responses from her clients. Her husband has a cloth sales business but income is minimal.

She has requested a loan from Kiva’s partner BRAC Pakistan to buy an additional lot of cloth and supplies such as thread, needles, pearls, etc. She is confident that with the stock of material, she will be able to meet urgent orders.

This is her second loan cycle with BRAC Pakistan. In the picture she is doing her embroidery work.

She and her family are very thankful to Kiva, lenders and BRAC Pakistan.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Pakistan.
