To make a living, Sai owns and operates an agricultural business whose main activity is raising crops. Planting and harvesting fruits and vegetables for sales is the main, but not the only, source of income. Sai has been engaged in this business for over 24 years and she earns approximately US $45 a month.

In 2009, Sai joined CREDIT to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. This is Sai's first loan request from CREDIT and she is asking for a loan of US $800. The loan will be used to invest in starting a new business of selling groceries. Sai plans to use the additional revenue generated from the new business to supplement the family's income.
