Our members alternate their different activities, from housework to specific tasks. With the sale of handicrafts, three members have their stand in the collective shopping center. The women bring merchandise from Bolivia (clothing, games, and gadgets, among other things). At the same shopping center, other members sell books, others have a kiosk for breakfast food, two members run two restaurants, and two more members sell school supplies. One of our members, Sra. Modesta E., is absent from the group for health reasons. These members are very hardworking people and want to keep moving ahead, and for that they require a loan to be able to reinvest in their different businesses.

Our members both value and thank you for your support by providing a loan through this organization. They are committed to repaying this loan within the established time frame.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
