Soe Soe's Group's story

Soe Soe is a 38-year-old married women. There are five family members in her family including her husband, son and two daughters. All of her children are studying. She is a farmer and it is the only business in her family. She has been farming over 15 years and farming was passed through her parents and ancestors. She owns 24 acres of farmland.

She can produce 1080 baskets of paddy for 24 acres. She faced some flooding problem last year, which destroyed her early plants. She explains that she had to regrow some plants.

She received her first loan from SOO last year, which she used for buying machine fuel and paying labor fees. She thanks SOO for their services, because SOO service offers an interest rate which is lower than the other local lenders and the length of the loan is very convenient for her.

She used the profit to buy some land and for her family’s living expenses. She is able to support her family's living such as food, healthcare fees, and school fees for her children and repayment for loans. She is now applying for a second loan which she would like to use to buy more fertilizer and pay labor fees plus fuel costs for the tractor. She also participates in the local self-help group. Her dream is that she would like to build a house in coming years.
