Haydee's story

Haydee is a member of Bancomunal Siempre Juntas. She is 42 and married. Haydee has five children, ages 26, 25, 22, 19 and 16. Her youngest child goes to public school.

Haydee was a housewife until she was approached to embroider for an exporting company, which she did at home for 6 years. She opened a small food store, but it didn’t work out and she closed it. With her savings she bought a car and started a taxi business. She also started to serve meals at home. She has bought two additional cars with her earnings, which other people drive for the taxi service.

Through Finca Perú, Haydee has learned to invest in her business and it is going well. She has asked for a loan of 2,000 soles (US $675) to buy tires and batteries for her cars.

Haydee studied Cosmetology and her goal is to someday start a beauty salon.
