A loan of $775 helped to pay a mechanic for maintenance charges of her husband's rickshaw.


Nazia's story

Nazia is thirty six years old, living with her spouse and five children in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. Pictured with her is her husband. He has been driving on unpaved and wet paths for many years. This is the reason his rickshaw's body has damage from beneath. He wants to fix his rickshaw but the mechanic is asking for heavy maintenance charges. He wants to overhaul his rickshaw but looking for lump sum amount. Therefore, Nazia has requested a loan from Kiva’s field partner, BRAC Pakistan, so her husband can be able to pay the full maintenance charges to the mechanic. She hopes that she would be able to set aside savings until the time comes for her children to marry in the future.
