A loan of $450 helped to purchase books, school supplies, a bicycle and pay school fees for her children.

Giang's story

Giang is 40 years old. She is married and has two children.

Giang lives in Quang Xuong district, a rural town in Thanh Hoa province. She has operated a food stall/restaurant, selling fish, for seven years. The income from this business is unstable because the price of fish depends on the amount of fish caught.

The main hardship that she faces is lack of money to keep sending her children to school. She is requesting a loan to purchase books, school supplies, a bicycle and to pay school fees for her children.

This is Giang's first loan with Thanh Hoa Microfinance Institution.

Giang hopes to make enough money to provide for her children, for her family to be healthy and happy, and for her business to do well.

This loan is special because:

It provides children from low-income families with greater access to education.
