A loan helped to buy a new Juki sewing machine and some packs of zippers and buttons to set up her own tailoring business from home.

Shakeela's story

Shakeela, aged forty-three, is a married woman. She is a hardworking and brave mother who is helping her family by providing tailoring services in a stitching firm. Being a mother, she wants to provide better facilities for her children, and this is the reason for her working extremely hard to keep her children smiling.

She wants to set up her own tailoring services from home because the stitching firm does not pay accordingly. She wants to buy a new sewing machine and some sewing material, but is unable to due to financial constraints.

This is the reason Shakeela has requested a Kiva loan to buy a new Juki sewing machine and some packs of zippers and buttons to set up tailoring services from home.

Shakeela is very thankful to Kiva and its field partner, BRAC Pakistan.
