A loan of $950 helped to purchase more ladies and gents trousers, t-shirts, and polo shirts.

Adama's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone!

This is Adama, a 50-year-old woman from Aberdeen branch. She is married with 3 children between the ages of 32 and 37 years.

Adama runs a clothing business in the marketplace in Aberdeen, where she sells ladies and gents trousers, t-shirts, polo shirts, etc. She has been in this business for the past 13 years now. She works 12 hours per day and 6 days a week. The main challenge to her business is slow sales sometimes.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more ladies and gents trousers, t-shirts, and polo shirts. Adama says that the extra income from this loan will help to educate her grandchildren and improve her life too. In the future, she would like to see her business extend to a big shop. She thanks Brac and Kiva for their support.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with access to funding in areas where there are limited alternative source of finance.
