A loan of $1,600 helped to stock her grocery business.

Lorena Elizabeth's story

Lorena has faced both the death of her husband and a terrible earthquake recently, but she hasn't let either blow defeat her. She pulled together what resources she had and started a corner grocery, a business that now supports her and her daughters. She used past loans to improve the store and stock a wider range of products. She has many regular customers now and is still adding new ones. She is applying for a loan to stock more of the products that her customers want and she expects the investment to contribute to growing the business and increasing her income.

When we asked Lorena what she most wants for the future, she told us that she wants her daughters to never lack for anything.
