A loan helped to finish her studies in environmental technology.

Carin Gisela's story

Carin is an only child, and her parents are separated. She is currently in the fourth cycle of her environmental technology degree. She has one more year left to complete her program. She chose this field because she wants to help future generations live in a clean and healthy environment. She understands the importance of improving the environment as it has been neglected for so long, which in the not too distant future could generate many problems.

Carin receives no support from her parents, which has led her to leave her home and live alone. Unfortunately, this lack of support has proved to be a big obstacle in finishing her degree. This has caused her to work odd jobs to cover her expenses. Her current economic situation is complicated, which is why she needs the support of a Kiva loan since she is unable to pay for her schooling on her own.

Her biggest dream is to work in a water treatment and quality control plant, and to become a great professional. Carin relates that she is very enthusiastic to know she can count on economic support through an education loan. She sends this message: "Thank for for the great support you give to young people of limited economic means like me, who want to improve themselves despite their difficulties. My promise to you will be to work my hardest. I won't let you down."
