A loan of $1,000 helped to buy a showcase for her shoes.

Karín's story

Karín is a young lady of 25 years who always tries to support her parents, with whom she lives and enjoys spending pleasant moments.

When she finished her studies, she wanted to have her own business and her parents helped her to set up a shoe stall at the local market. She has been selling shoes there for two years and during that time she has managed to gain many loyal customers who visit her every day, as she offers lower prices than her competitors. In order to increase her sales, she starts already at 9 a.m. and works until 6 p.m. She buys some merchandise in the city center, although most of it comes from merchant friends in other cities, where shoes of a very high quality are produced at a low price. Thus she can earn more money and yet offer good quality to her customers.

Now Karín is planning to expand her stall and offer new brands of shoes. As a member of a community bank, she particularly enjoys the commitment and effort of her group members. During the 13 loans she has had so far with Microfinanzas Prisma, she went through many difficult situations that she managed to overcome. She will invest the 3000 nuevos soles of her loan in the purchase of a showcase for the new shoes that she will buy.
