A loan helped a member to buy more rice seed and to pay the plowing fee to save her farming business.

Ton's Group's story

Ton, 39 years old, lives with family members in a rural village of the Kandal province. She is a mother of three children, two of whom are in school, while another one is too young for schooling. To support her living condition, she is growing rice and working as a paid worker for a fee.

She has been involved with her business for ten years, and she can save from her daily income about 8 USD per day. The insects destroying her rice is the main challenge of her family’s business for this year. This is her fourth cycle microloan with VisionFund, and she successfully paid back her past loans.

Now, she leads a group of three members to apply for the new loan. As the group leader, she will spend her loan to buy more rice seed and to pay the plowing fee to save her farming business. She wishes for her farm to produce good crops and to get higher yields than last year.
