A loan of $275 helped to increase her stock of charcoal and firewood.

Dogo's story

Dogo R. is thirty-six years old and a married mother of three. She lives with her family in Bamburi, a densely populated town in Mombasa where she runs a charcoal and firewood store. She has been in this business for the last five years.

Dogo is requesting her first loan from KADET, one of Kiva's field partners, and with the money she plans to increase her charcoal and firewood stock. Apart from her charcoal business, Dogo also offers catering services to supplement her income. Her main customers are area residents of Bamburi.

She hopes to own a transport vehicle in the future and also hopes to build a spacious and sheltered store for her stock.
