Violet's Group's story

Violet, who appears in the photo, has been a farmer for 15 years. She is proud to represent her group of 12 farmers from Webuye District. She is 39 years old, married, and has five children.

Violet likes to think of herself as a very hardworking individual. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2015 and decided to represent her group because she wanted to help more farmers. She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has been able to consistently feed her family. Violet plans to use the profits from this coming season to send her children to school.

Her group will receive inputs to cultivate five acres of land. Some of the members will also be purchasing a solar light, so the group will be receiving a total of eight solar lights.

In this group: Violet, Jamin, Zainabu, Mary, Ruth, Mary, Jane, John, Rosemary, Sarah, Teresia, Shadrack
