A loan of $2,600 helped a member to restock rabbits as well as day old chicks (400 birds).

Good Hope Group's story

Courage is being scared, but saddling up anyway. Emmah is one courageous woman involved in the poultry business who also keeps rabbits. Currently she has a total of 200 rabbits and 21-day-old chicks, which were already at their point of sale. Her business has greatly improved and she keeps good records, both hard copy and soft copy, in her laptop. She has built large fowl runs and cages for her business.

Emmah experienced a challenge of increasing her market share during her third loan because her business was not registered while most of her customers bought from registered businesses. For a while she struggled with the issue of registering her business but was granted permission in January 2017. She will restock rabbits as well as day old chicks (400 birds) in order to meet her demand using the loan from Thrive.

Emmah is a 50-year-old married mother with two dependents. She resides in Chitungwiza near the rest of the group.
