Desiderata's story

First born Desiderata is following in her mother's footsteps. At the age of 27, Desiderata would like to be an entrepreneur of her own, while two of her siblings are still in school. Desiderata's father helps youth development and her mother is a Zoona mobile money agent. Desiderata has been watching her mother's business grow and with encouragement from her mother has helped Desiderata take up the new challenge.

Desiderata has gone through training with Zoona, and with the knowledge of her mother's business, she is ready to start serving her community. Desiderata will be helping her community send and receive money. With more than half the population in Malawi unbanked this is a vital service and Desiderata will help her community save on extra expenses incurred with moving around cash. Desiderata reaches out to Kiva as she is unable to cover the cost of a new business. This loan will help her attain a kiosk to trade from.

While Desidarata was unemployed she volunteered as a counselor and would like to further her studies and attain a degree. Her goal is to have a stable business by 2020. Thanking all Kiva lenders in advance for their support.
