A loan helped to purchase fertilizers and to pay for day-labor for the weeding of his coffee plot.

José's story

José and his family live and work together in Caserío Tabloncillo, a coffee production community in la Coipa, San Ignacio, Perú. He is 50 years old, living with his two daughters ages 8 and 13, who he supports in their studies.

José is a responsible parent who helps his family succeed, and is dedicated to the production of organic coffee of excellent quality, and good taste and smell. He sells his coffee, which is his sole source of income, via the agrarian coffee cooperative 'Los Ángeles.'

José wants to give his children a good education, and increase the area he has under cultivation in order to improve his family's living conditions. With this first loan, José will ensure a good yield during the next coffee season, and he will have the opportunity to improve his business by increasing his coffee production via fertilization and day labor.
