Majengo Miembeni Group's story

Habiba is a member of the Majengo Miembeni borrower group in Kibolirion, Kilimanjaro. She is a 34-year-old woman; she is married and the mother of 4 children. Her children are 19, 17, 13, and 4.



Neema started her own clothing business selling blouses 3 years ago. She works 12 hours a day and earns a monthly profit of approximately 150,000 Tanzania Schillings.



This is Habiba's first loan from BRAC Tanzania. She has requested 200,000 Tsh in order to expand her business. With the additional profit she gains from the use of this loan, Habiba hopes to save money, pay school fees, and expand her business.



Venisia, another member of the Majengo Miembeni borrower group, has also requested 200,000 Tsh in order to support her own clothing business.



Alisi, also a member of the same group, requested 200,000 Tsh in order to expand her business.
