A loan of $350 helped increase his stock.

Jorge's story

Jorge is 32 years old. He's a single father with a little five-year-old daughter who's already in school. For the time being, the two of them live with his parents. For two years he's been selling beers in a rented space in a touristed area of the city. On Saturdays and Sundays he rounds out his beverages by offering grilled meats and other typical foods of the region such as juanes (rice with chicken, eggs, and olives) and tacachos (mashed plantain with pork). Jorge likes treating his customers well so they are loyal to his establishment, since any increase in his earnings depends on that. As a father, he wants to provide his daughter with everything she needs. It is for her sake that he works so hard and he'd like to see her find a good job in the future. This is his first loan with MFP and he's very enthusiastic about his work with his communal bank, where he has seen that all the members are responsible, collegial people. He will use the requested loan to buy more beer and ingredients for his weekend meals.
