A loan helped a member to buy bags of hibiscus flower, monkey bread, and soft drinks to run a business.

Agnes' Group's story

Agnès is a dynamic woman who is engaged in trade. She is an active member of the banc villageois with whom she has been a member since its first loan cycle. At 57 years old, she is married and the mother of five school-educated children. Agnès has been active in commerce through the sale of local juices and soft drinks for almost ten years. With her new loan of 440,000 francs CFA she will buy merchandise including sugar, monkey bread, hibiscus flower, and soft drinks from a supplier in her village. The profits from this business will allow her to cover her children’s food and sanitation needs and to increase her savings at the banc villageois.
