A loan helped to buy raw material such as leather, cotton thread, brass nails and instruments.

Irshad's story

Irshad is a 47-year-old, married woman. She lives in Sheikhupura, Pakistan, with her family. She has been doing a business of shoe-making (handcrafted footwear) with her husband (sitting with her) for last 25 years. Together, both husband and wife are supporting their family. Irshad is very responsible in taking care of the basic necessities of her children, including food, health and clothing.

Currently, she is facing the problem of a lack of raw materials due to financial constraints; therefore, she needs some financial support from JWS Pakistan. For this purpose, she requested a loan to buy additional material such as leather, cotton thread, brass nails and instruments, etc. Doing so will help Irshad to manage the growing demand in the market, and hence, improve her profit.

She and her family are very grateful to Kiva and JWS Pakistan for their kind help.
