Guillermo's story

Guillermo is 57 years old and lives with his wife Martha and two children, who are single and work to pay their own expenses and provide support at home. Guillermo prepares and sells homemade sweets – such as donuts, cookies, cakes, etc. These delicious pastries are made with the help of his wife and then baked in the oven he built in his home. In order to market his products, he hired three people to sell them in different parts of the district. Guillermo enjoys his work because he feels useful. Eight years ago, he suffered an accident and was not able to work on a regular basis. He began saving money a little bit at a time until he had enough to start a bakery. Now that he has his own business, he is able to earn a decent income.

This is his 4th loan with MFP. He enjoys working with his communal bank group, in whom he has had great confidence from the first moment he began working with them. All of them have been responsible with their payments. With the money he is requesting, Guillermo will buy large quantities of ingredients needed to prepare his sweets – flour, starch, oil, eggs, sugar and other items.
