Hmaw Bi Su – 1 (B) Village Group's story

This group is located in Hmaw Bi Su Village in the Delta region of Myanmar. This village has around 640 households. Most of the villagers are farmers who plant rice paddy and seasonal vegetables. For additional income, some households raise livestock, including pigs and chickens.

In this group, there are five village customers, including the featured borrower, Myo (first from the right in the picture). This loan will help some group members to purchase ducks, as well as high-quality feed.

Myo is married and has one child attending seventh grade. He farms rice on his two-acre farmland but also plans seasonal plants such as coconuts and bananas. Myo also raises ducks for additional income. He started duck farming five years ago. His 100 ducks are usually pastured by his wife as he is busy with the paddy.

Myo will use this loan to purchase additional ducks and quality duck feed. More ducks will increase his income by providing more duck eggs.
