A loan helped a member to pay for ACE 1 clean cookstove.

Loti Group's story

Matumaole is a 62-year-old, married mother of eight children and grandmother of three grandchildren. She lives in three separate huts, living in a family of six. She uses wood, paraffin, and candles in her house. She is unemployed and earns a living from her husband pension grant.

She requested a loan from Kiva lenders to purchase a clean cookstove to give her and four other people from her village living in similar circumstances the chance to reduce costs of fuel and time spent collecting fuel. This stove can be started with a little readily available biomass such as twigs and dry cow dung. It is smokeless, and it comes with an LED lamp.
