Bakhtiyor's story

Bakhtiyor is a young and energetic man with the desire to improve his family's living conditions. He is 22 years old and lives in Spitamen, Tajikistan. He has a retail shop where he sells spare parts for foreign cars. He has been involved in this business for more than 5 years, since before, he has helped his father. He provides cars with spare parts and his family with the necessary food and other needs.

Bakhtiyor has a great demand for spare parts thus he wants to buy more goods in order to hold on to his clients. He wants to take out an individual loan of 3000 Somoni to buy more spare parts and enlarge his shop inventory.

Tajikistan is known for its rich history, which includes a key post along the Silk Road and the end of Alexander the Great's rule. These conditions have resulted in high levels of unemployment and have forced hundreds of thousands to seek work in other countries, mainly Russia. While the people of Tajikistan are working to improve its agricultural production and manufacturing sector, nearly two-thirds of the population still live in abject poverty.
